Caricatures

Pre-Critique:

For this caricature, I wanted to exaggerate the emotion of anger with the use of my face. When the human face makes the expression of anger, the nose flare, the space between the eyebrows wrinkle, and the eyebrows violently arche. To exaggerate these features, I made the flared nostrals larger, added more wrinkles on the brow. To add to the angry emotion and give a demonic element to the caricature, the eyes have changed to red and the canine teeth on the upper row of teeth have grown into fangs.

Post-Critique:

After the critique given for the caricature, I now have ways I can improve on the drawing. Compared to the black and white drawing, the one with color brings out the emotion better. The eyes would need to be scaled up to look more demonic, along with playing with the shading of the iris and the contract. Right now, there is minium shading around the upper part of the face and the image appears to be really flat. To give of the look that the eyes are more sunken into the head, more shading would have to be done along with having heavier lines on the eyes and wrinkles. To add the design of the caricature, the features need to be more exaggerated, such as increasing the size of the mour and eyes and also inlarging the eyebrows are arching them more. Then with the use of shading, make the eyebrows really pop out. By studying the facial expression of anger more, I can learn what is needed to make the caricature appear to be a totall exaggeration and to have spacial depth in the image.
